I recently installed the Syms kit + cusco bushings on my car..

First off, this kit is obscenely nice. Installing it turned out to be a pain that I couldn't do without dropping the tranny a bit, so I cheated a bit and popped the shift level itself out and replaced it like shown for the shifters that only replace that one thing.

Also, I dumped the bushings from the Syms kit and switched in the cusco bushings, mainly because the Cusco ones are harder.

The improvement in shifter feel was wonderful, and I have all of 4" of shift travel. Friends with sticks say that their throws are around 6 to 8, sometimes 9" depending on the car, and love how my shifter feels now.

I would highly, highly suggest the cusco bushings, they seem to be the hardest ones out there, and offer the greatest advantages. Also, I would not suggest installing a $300 shift kit when its only the lever and the bushings that are different (didn't notice any difference between the bushings where they meet to the back of the tranny tunnel). But thats for you to decide =)
