Default 2009 Fozzy XT with remote MAP sensor I need to Upgrade

I'm in the weeds with this Fozzy and its "Plastic Fantastic" manifold. I want to make a little over 300 HP with 2014 WRX turbo/intercooler parts. I have ported W25 heads and a built SB.
I have stripped out all the emissions crap and am dieting the harness. I recently realized that the MAP is not on the throttle body!
This thread seems to address many of my concerns but a new one has popped up. Some of the three and four bar MAP's (sometimes with adapters, like the Cobb) can be expensive. I don't see the point in paying $200 for a simple pressure transducer and adapter. It doesn't seem like rocket science and I can fab about anything to adapt a sensor (pressure transducer).
If I'm going to get the Fozzy tuned, is there any reason not to buy almost any three or four BAR sensor?
Any recommendations or issues?
Why would this not work?
Or, even this, for $15!
