Good point. Aren't all the top running Dakar "trucks" diesel?

I was specifically thinking of the Taurus (team not car), the last car to run Le Mans with a diesel. Killed the gearbox early on and had to retire. I think the prototype diesels run a lot more torque than the Dakar trucks, but I could be wrong. Doubt if the Pajero Evolution could run under 4min laps anyhow

Apparently the R10's engine is almost too quiet at speed-it's a bit hard to hear over the tire/chassis noise. Makes the shift lights earn their keep, I guess.
