Someone else had installed a non-oem water pump about a year ago and it was leaking out the weep hole. So if you decide to replace your water/oil pump, only get OEM. Gates timing belt kit seems to be okay, never had a problem with them.
Yes Sir, USLiberty has done some work on my car and I was not too thrilled about letting just anyone wrench on my ride either, but I can assure you he his very competent in his work. He did my heater core, replaced my AC compressor and replaced my water pump too. He had replaced my water pump that I had gotten from NAPA only a year ago..def stick with OEM parts and def do the water pump and oil pump at the same time, it will save you grief in the long run. Think about it, if your in there replacing the timing belt spend a few more dollars and replace the water and oil pump too, The Gates timing belt kit comes with the water pump so you'll just have to buy another oil pump. You wont regret it and its not that much more money or time for the mechanic to do it while he's replacing the belt. Holy shiz, I just looked at the price for a Gates Timing belt kit and its nearly half the price it was 6 years ago...go for it!
