Let me clarify, I would like to put down 350-375 WHP. Since I am picking up a band new EJ257 short block, I would like to swap out the factory pistons for forged ones, extra insurance so to speak. The stock rods and crank, from what I hear, are good up to 500 CHP as long as the tune is proper and slightly towards the rich side, and of course, keeping it under 8K. The factory bearings, from what I've read and from what people have told me, would be suitable for my desired HP range, as long as I shim the STI oil pump with an additional two washers (total of three in the pump) for additional pressure and again, keep it under 8K, don't want to spin another rod bearing. What I'm pretty much asking is is I can have your 2 cents. I'm not experienced in building motors (I'll leave that to Dylan @ DS1) and I've just recently been studying all this new info day in day out so I don't waste my money and have to be without my Bugeye for the next few months, again.
