I have been dealing with this problem for so long now that it's sad. I have filed down my sensors but to no positive results. The cam sensors are picking up the signal at random instances, which means that I must leave avcs off to avoid a probable valve to piston collision.

Sometimes the car wont even start up because it will not Stat sync. I have a good rpm signal, my problem lies in the cam sensors. I have filed the sensors multiple times now with my dremel and sanding discs but I have no idea how much more do I need to take before they start sending a signal that is strong enough for the box to pick it up. In fact, I was thinking of filing it all the way down until it touches the dam cam and then start using shims to achieve a proper gap "yea I'm that desperate after 4 months".

I can start my car and drive it thanks to "Ignore Stat Sync above rpm: 200..." Which should be 0 if it should work as its supposed to.

I have Brian crower Stage 2 AVCS cams and it seams that every other person with these cams has similar problems.

I started this thread to see if even the aem tech there could point me in the right direction, but they don't post at all. Way to go on customer service.

At this point I'm not going to recommend the box to anyone. This has been a $1400 nightmare for me.

Still I want to solve this since getting rid of the box will put a dent on my pockets. A bad one at that.

Any updates on this situation?
this sounds just like the problems am having with my 05 STI........
