I just made the JVC purchase today to get rid of my old stock head unit and replace it with something a little more stylish and better sounding. I have two questions that I would love answered if anyone could help.

1. I purchased the JVC DVD head unit and metra wiring harness. I already went ahead and made all the connections to the wiring harness so I can plug it in when I'm ready. I'm curious though do I need a a adapter of any sorts for the antenna. I need to be able to keep the AM/FM antenna this is crucial for me to get traffic updates in Boston ? If I do can anyone help me out and tell me exactly what I need?

2. I use my iphone 5s all the time in the car via bluetooth to play music which I will continue to do with my new head unit. The question I have is when I install this new unit will I loose my charging capabilities inside my center console or is there a way I can write that into my harness? I hope that makes sense? I'm just wondering because it's so handy?

Any help would be great! Thanks-Justin
1. I don't think you'll need an adapter for the antenna, but there is more info on this (and your USB question) on

2. You can use the adapter from to hook up your USB to your head unit. For charging you'll be better off with a higher amperage USB charger like this one:
