FWIW I put about 14,000 miles on my 18 STI in 1 year, no engine mods or AP, regular oil changes, and it runs smooth as glass still. -fingers crossed-
I've got 124k on my 06 wrx wagon, tuned since 60k miles, dp&retune somewhere after 60k, can't recall actual mileage; original head gaskets to boot. I think I'm in the "one percent" with this car, as far as reliability is concerned though. Will probably stuff an RA motor in it if the original motor pops. Mind you, this isn't me saying it's been a walk in the park; aside from scheduled maintenance, I did replace a bunch of other crap along the way, but the engine, trans & rear have held up at least. Kinda glad I didn't buy a 2012-2014 hatch though, especially with the way I handle repairs (e.g. do them myself).
