For Android fanboys and other guests in the car who shouldn't be pairing with bluetooth. I also keep an AUX to Lightning adapter on the end of it because it usually ends up being someone with an iPhone. The Pioneer CD-IU52 cord for CarPlay isn't very long, and I have replaced my center console 12v outlet with a USB outlet for this cord, so it won't reach to the back seat if someone back there wants to control the music.
