I have a 2013 STI sedan, and I've been paranoid about my spot welds ever since I saw the first thread about the creaks. Fast forward to last week and I came across this bracket.

I just wrapped up the install and I truly feel that this type of bracket will do much more than any "master cylinder brackets" sold that brace in the engine bay. This one actually secures the pedal box to the steel bar that runs behind the dash. $160 is nothing compared to the piece of mind it provides. I'm confident that with this installed I will not be another statistic with broken welds.

I do not have any affiliation with the company that makes or sells this product but I wanted to share my experience with the community. Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
I had riveted the top two welds a year ago and all was well. A week ago the squeaking returned. I riveted two more, which did not look broken, and could not get the flex/squeaking to go away. Installed the its brace the other night and it's fixed! Pedals are rock solid and no more firewall squeaking. Seems like a great product so far.
