Can I be fined for having only one license plate? When will the next hearing or when might the decision be made on allowing only one plate on a vehicle?

I only ask because I just ordered my WRX and it'll be at the dealer on the 15th of April. Wouldn't want them to drill any unnecessary holes and I was also thinking about just purchasing the Totsubo license plate thing. Thanks!
I'll update when there is an update. So far, the bill has been left pending in committee. They may vote on it on Tuesday, and if is passes the house transportation committee (which a majority of members seem to indicate), it will head to the full house for a vote. The problem, is that there is no companion bill in the senate. We need both chambers to pass identical bills to be able to send to the governor.

As of now, yes, you can be pulled over and cited for having only one license plate. However, if you can show that you've put a front plate on, it's just a $10 administrative fee (fix-it ticket).

If this bill makes it to the governor's desk for his signature, it would be effective on September 1, 2013. On that day, I would take my front plate off my cars.
