My suggestion would be to get individual numbers, rather than a number board that has a number already on it. If you've got a number board with 123 on it, and someone else registers for the event before you and takes that number, you're back to using painter's tape. But if you've got a pair of 6s (9s), a pair of 3s and a pair of 1s (or whatever combination you want to use), you've got a multitude of number options you can use when you register.

Another similar site is www.dlbracing.com. I would say motorsportreg.com has become progressively more popular than dlbracing.com over the years, but in my area the SCCA events are on DLB, so I end up using both sites.
