The design of the 1.3 cable is not mysterious, just time and $$ intensive to make your own.
There ARE significant differences in the Tactrix versions and the Vagcom stuff. Ecuflash code is written to talk to a Tactrix cable, or one with the same functionality. That is why I requested a photo of one of the BFM PCB component layouts. I could determine from there with a degree of certainty how faithful the part was to a real 1.3 (or 1.2) cable.
Will wait to see what is forthcoming. No way I will pay $50+ for another version of a Vagcom, but if it is indeed a functional reproduction.......... Would save me time making my own from a recently bought Vagcom that will not work with Ecuflash (no surprise, but i thought, What the hell). Does not share the same circuitry. Really only needs a few components totaling less than $20 from Digikey and some handiwork with wiring.
