Aside from the dull thudding at slow speeds over uneven roads that you are also experiencing (and others as well hopefully), everything seems to be normal. Though I wouldn't mind others' chiming in on their experiences =)
Yea, about hitting that lip some ahole left, I hit one of those,too, and was similarly concerned. It removed the recent sidewall shine almost to the rim but a lot of checking showed all good, thankfully. No warning, then BAM! Bastids.

Did the same on another Suby as well without issue. Hitting dead on is one thing, just don't want a curb-like hit... that bends expensive things.

Nevertheless, it would provide peace of mind if nothing else to visit a quality alignment shop if you remain concerned.
