I was with my friend in his 99 outback limited last night driving around. His CEL is on and he doesnt like it so he figured out how to pull out one of the fuses under the dash which shuts off the speedoemter, windows and a few other things. Turns out if he leaves the fuse out the lights dim, the radio eventually dies and the car shuts down. We had this fuse unplugged for about an hour before the radio shut off.
My question is why, what happens when that fuse is pulled out in the motor that slows down and eventually stops power. I am thinking it stops the alternator from spinning and it just uses the battery juice until the battery dies. Does anyone know anymore info about this. I am just curious.
