Hey that may happen. Then again it may not. All I can talk about is RIGHT Now.

Hondas in the 80's (35 years ago) were getting close to 50 mpg.. but we regulated that away with safety add-ons.

the electric car world is new, and the government is too busy trying to keep the industry alive. Wait until the government starts trying to 'improve' the EV.

I can only imagine what horrors will be instore for the EV car purchaser.

Back on point, if Tesla can make a 35k thousand dollar car, and it can actualy go 225 miles per charge with the radio, GPS and Air conditioning on, then that is a good thing. If people want it, they will buy it. I have no issues with that.
