I am not sure this is true. Ford knows how to build cars (for the most part), Ford has an extensive dealer network and infrastructure to be able to keep parts in supply. Ford has a huge parts bin to choose from so economies of scale will come into play. They are only competing against the Model Y really and that thing next worldly ugly and has not been a huge success.

Id say they have a chance, but having shown my hand, lets see where the cards fall
