Correct. I went back to the original thread I created when the issue happened and her car is a 2009. I misspoke.

Professional install of a Tial BOV. Even if it was leaky, that would only serve to enrich the mixture, not lean it out. Less air than what was metered with the same fuel = richer.

It could never cause the detonation you're talking about.
