Your problem is a little different, but the fix for seats with NO airbag is to add a resistor. It seems like what most people use is 3.3 ohms on the middle two pins of the plug. I guess you could test the resistance of the middle two pins of both seats? Theoretically your original seat that doesn't throw the light would be somewhere around 3.3 ohms, and if the new seat is significantly different that would at least explain it. Doesn't make sense though since both seats are 2015+
Thanks for letting me know about the middle two pins, I'll try to measure the resistance with a multimeter. Always nervous doing things with airbags though haha.
