Default car dealership lied

today i went to get my car appraised by a dealership..and they gave me a ****y price, a lot less than what i still owe...and when i askd what the deal was they said it was because the car had been in an accident!! i didnt believe him so he showed me the carfax..and there it said "vehicle involved in crash with a curb moderate or severe damage reported"
I couldnt belive that because i bought the car used..but from a large..and what i thought was a creditable dealership..now im saying that they lied to me because when i was in the process of purchasing it i asked them if the vehicle had ever been involved in an accident and they said NO.. Is there anything that i can do?? or do i just have to live with it??

a dealership lied? no way!

sadly, you're screwed. shoulda done your research before you bought it. unless you have written documentation that says that they told you it wasn't in an accident, you'll never be able to prove what they said.

just because the car has been in an accident, doesn't mean it should hurt tradein value etc too much. I'd say find another dealer with a car you want and try and trade it in there. ive never traded a car in (with visably strong intentions of getting a car off the lot) that they ran a carfax on, only visual inspections. (the last dealer didnt even drive it!)

good luck.

A car salesman will do whatever they can to sell you a car, especially a used car. Checking carfax history is a bare-minimum when it comes to buying a used car.

Sucks that happened to you, but there isn't much you can do but live with it, if the car drives normal and do not cause any potential harm to its operator.

are you just appraising it... or are you trying to get another car? Because If you want a new car.. sell it on autotrader.com and hope the people are too cheap to do carfax.
I sold my SER on there to get my suby... it was lease.. with 3 months payments left.. and a 9,000 dollar residual + turn in fee... I got over blue book value for the sentra and MADE 150 bucks on the car.. 2002 and it was in 2 pretty bad accidents and one minor rear end. most people won't check.. and always check when YOU are buying.. lol

When I was selling my 350Z in 2004, the dealer offered me 20K. The salesman told me better to sell the car myself. I sold the car 1 week later for 26K.

you're skrewed, like everyone says. I bought a 00 alero back when I was young and ignorant. I asked them to show me the carfax report, they did, and after I bought the car some lady backed into my car and scuffed the bumper. I brought to a paint shop to get it repainted and the guys like "yea I can match the paint better than the last time it was in an accident." I didn't even see a difference in the paint, but I went back to the dealership and asked for a copy of the carfax report(prabably about 3 mo. after I bought the car) and they don't have it on file, so the guy just prints it out from carfax for me. The thing is, when the showed me the carfax when I bought the car, they only showed the first 2 pages that deal with water damage, the didn't show me the page that said the car had been in 3 accidents. so yea, fluck those god damn car salesmen up their a$$ and slit their throat with their own business card. or just kick them in the balls

the sales guy at mark mitsubishi told me that the evo 10 is coming out in 2007 and that the car i got was one of the last evo ix in the country. i just had to laugh cause i know better than that. they will say anything for a sale. I wanted the car so i didn't really care. they thought that they had to give me a big sales pitch or something. I have run into a sad sad bunch of sales people at subaru and mitsubishi in the phoenix area. the best part of getting a new car i think is taking a test drive with one of those guys in the car and making him very afraid as i push the car in and out of corners like im on some sort of closed course.
