Default Cleaning chemicals

Whats the best(and safest) chemical to use to remove old, hardened subaru fluid packing?

And also the stuff thats used on oil galley plugs.

Check the Permatex website, I'm sure they have a solvent for it. If nothing else, the instructions/MSDS for that type of stuff should list a solvent/cleaning agent to use.

If you are patient, you can clean the plugs by hand, unless it's really just baked on there. I used a plastic scraper that I made for the rest so as not to gouge the mating surfaces.
