Default Good NA computer?


What do you guys recommend ECU-wise for my RS that will not ever be turbo'd. My mods do/will include:

N1 3 pulley set (not ud)
cobb cai
exedy fw
borla headers
random tech cat
brullen cat back

Is the stock ECU more than enough? I am worried about lean conditions with the CAI. So far, I haven't been very impressed with the stock ECU's ability to adapt to new environments, i.e, when I drive from the valley up to Tahoe, my car runs like it's using the fuel/timing maps from the valley. Trying to reset my ECU everytime I change altitudes is a joke. With my above mods and a new ECU, should I also be looking into a better knock sensor? For both of these, price is a major consideration...

What do I need? Thanks for your help!

someone mentioned that there's a place that reprograms the stock ECU for what mods you have, change maps, up the redline, etc..

Pocket Logger - Use this first to find out if you are having fuel problems or if it is just altitude giving you problems. If you do have a fuel problem and safc will only help you at WOT. A TEC-I or Unichip should be enough to allow you to control most every aspect you will need to tune.

the Link will work w/ NA. Talk to Skywalker or Christoph1371 from I-Speed. Running higher octane gas, the Link can run closer to stoich than stock and get you more hp. I believe I heard as much as a 20hp improvement can be achieved w/ the Link. Ask those guys.
