Just installed one of these myself last week and was wondering the same thing. This valve makes me a little nervous as to the quality of its seal, and whether or not it will allow all the oil to drain since it is slightly recessed in the pan.

There aren't that many threads inside the oil pan, all but maybe a few ounces should drain.
I think I bought 3/8" house for mine, might be 5/16" though, pretty sure it says on either the fumoto or quickvalve website |

On my truck ive had since 2004, just as an extra measure, which isnt nessesary, but did give me peace of mind, i attached a small pipe clamp so the lever would have no chance of turning

You have to lift the lever and then turn. I can't think of any situation where it would get knocked open.
I bought a hose, secured it to the nipple with a pipe clamp and feed it into the subframe. Never have to worry about where my hose is. Going on 3 years without an issue. It actually does NOT sit much more in than the stock drain plug. I would wager pulling the valve after draining would just result in residual left over dripping out. |

Nice. Thinking of getting one myself. I've used this on all my cars and makes oil changes simple as pie. What's the one for the impreza...F-108?

No it's discouraged. The fiber washer holds perfectly fine.
