Question Kartboy on 2K GT

I recently installed a Kartboy shifter on my 2k GT and noticed that the center cylinder on the shifter is not a long as the stock shifter. This resulted in about 1/4 inche space between the end of the shifter cyclinder and edge of the forked piece once everything was assembled. Has anybody else had this experience with their Kartboy on a 2K.

Yes, it's shorter and stiffer than stock.

The stiffness goes away after a while.

Yes, I observed the same thing in mine. It definitely has more space when compared to the Impreza based on the installation pictures I've seen. I've put about 10K miles on mine with no problems. I guess a bit of side-to-side play is OK since I have no problem finding the gears.

BTW, did you get the Kartboy bushings too? The combination feels great.

Yea...because of the gap on each side I have noticed that the shifter slides to one side or another which causes some vagueness in certain gears (depending if right of center or left). When centered I love it. I talked with Teagues and he thought that the center cylinder should be the same length as stock. I'm going to measure both and send him the numbers. I may need to shim each side to keep the shifter centered.

I do have the bushing kit, but have yet to put it on. This weekend I hope.
