Default Evo rims?

So this may be a dumb question... My brother's Evo VIII Enkei's are just sitting in the shed collecting dust with almost new tires since he upgraded. I was wondering if I could slap those on with some 5x100 to 5x114 adapter plates? I know the offset is way different, but would the 1.5" adapters allow me to use the rims?

...Be gentle...
