Just thought I would ask. I have rear disc also. And love the ten speaker with sub also, sounds sweet. Wish they would of had a OBS on the lot when I bought mine, I would have one. I like the two tone.

Hey, I just joined after finding out I'll be getting an '08 2.5i 5-door in the upcoming week or so. Dad and I are just negotiating a price with dealers right now, and then it's delivery. My top three choices for color are the Newport Blue, Black, and White Pearl, in that order. I'll be getting it with the 5-speed manual, and I'm really excited. All of your cars look excellent, guys. I'll post pictures when I take delivery

I'm seriously considering an 08 2.5iSE Canadian model in the new year. I test drove it; it seems fine. Quite nimble, actually (but I'm coming from a POS Ranger truck). Interior dimensions are prefect for me. With most cars, my hair brushes against the roof.

It had some nice giddyup from a standstill, but I suppose the tradeoff is inefficient gearing at highway speeds?

What do you owners think of this review?

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/rev...za-25i-review/

Any substance to the review? The writer pretty much hates it...

Well, I'm picking up my car this weekend! I just have one question. I was showing my friends a picture of the interior of the car, and I'm wondering, in the following picture, is the little blue ambient light in the cubby-hole standard? Or is that only on the more upscale packages?

on another note about this car... does it sound to anyone else that the sides of the car are being pulverized when you run over rocks or gravel? I've not noticed any dents but the undercarriage is definitely taking a beating. if you have noticed, do the splashguards make a difference?
I found your post on the noise. I have a 2008 Impreza 4 door, 5 speed.
It came with factory color matched splash guards. It is a noisy car. There doesn't seem to be any sound insulation where it should be. My 2007 Legacy is much quieter. I did not have the 08 undercoated. I usually don't do that but with this sound thing, it might be necessary.
I am running Nokian WRG2's but the RE92A's were just as bad with the stones, gravel and salt junk hitting the car.

I think the noisiness is part of the reason Subaru was able to reduce the weight of the car. Also, a Legacy should have more sound insulation being that it is a higher level car.

Default Price for 2.5i 4 door?

Hello Everybody,

I am moving to Kansas City and looking to buy Impreza 2.5i 4 door MT, I test drove a bunch of cars ranging from Yaris,Lancer,Fit,Rabbit and finally zeroed on Impreza 08. Kansas City having pretty good snow would probably need a 4 wheel drive and Impreza is the only sedan that offers it in the price range. I have a few questions to all you pros..

1. Is my final choice for a Impreza right?
2. Do you really get the 4 wheel drive advantage driving in snow?
3. What will be the best possible price for 2008 Impreza 2.5i 4 door + Manual T(in Kansas)?
4. Any negatives for the car?

Thanks in Advance.

1. Probably, but remember fwd cars are fairly capable in snow also with the right tires. AWD Impreza uses a lot more gas all year round than the Yaris and Fit. I've heard the 2.5 Rabbit is a guzzler too.

2. Uh, yeah? Put snow tires on a AWD car THEN you'll get what's so great about AWD and snow.

3. Dunno

4.See posts #42 and #47.

any type of clear bar, rockblocker or something similar. I am going to do my rear doors in the area where it's lightly chipped to prevent more damaged, for this weekends trip to the mountains. My ride only has 3500 miles on it..

Does anyone know what mileage is the break-in point? I just got my ride a week ago, and I have 218 miles on the odo.

Thanks.

I got 6K miles on mine already in a month and a half of ownership..Took it to FL over Christmas..was getting on average 30 mpg at 80 mph the whole trip. It actually was a nice smooth comfortable trip...had the car loaded down too with no problems...cept for the BIG stone chip in the hood I have now..that as soon as I got back here to CT instantly started to rust...Going to get the front stone/big guard now.

I am going with the ventvisor type..the LeBra will trap too much salt and moisture under it( Had one years ago on a truck of mine) the other at least can be hosed out undernieth...the shame is..I have the damn touch-up paint..and it rusted before I could ever put it on...Now since I have a hobby of restoring old rot box Subarus..I have to fix it right which means sand it off etc etc..cant just appy the TUP or it will eventually bubble undernieth.

mihow...I have the light interior and honesly....havent had any issues..seems the dirt on the carpet vaccuums right up...I am still going to put seat covers on eventually...and I have a black leather wrap seating wheel cover..but it isnt as bad as I thought.( cept around the cup holder...kinda likes to get coffee stains)
I still have absolutely no complaints about this car..handles fantastic in bad weather..even deep snow..comfortable ( for me) drove 14 hours non-stop with no back pain butt pain or fatique. I am an extremely happy owner thats for sure
