I remember the build thread for your wide body in ages past. Sounds like this will be another in your list of ludicrously complete builds. Subscribed man!

Please everyone.... no "You should have a wider rim comments".. been through all those conversations on my other threads... I am more of a big meat on a thinner rim kind of guy instead of a really wide rim with a tire stretched to hell.
I understand your pain, but FYI I am running 18x8.5 +33 with 235/45 tires on wagon fenders dude, obviously you have like 3x the tire, but I mean come on, you didn't even go x9?

Looking forward to your build!!

Ok.. so here is the reasoning from my other threads

- so I wanted to run a 265 series tire
- This tire fits on my rims
- The offset of my rim and tire package fill my fenders
- They fill them enough that I have to do a bit more work on the rear to prevent rubbing
- Anything wider with a 5x100 and the offset I needed to fill the fenders is pretty much a custom rim

So why go through the expense of a cusom wider rim when I am running the tire that I want... just so that I can say I have a wider rim?

If I was 5x114.3 then the world would have been my oyster... but when it comes to rims.. when you are 5x100 your choices and options are much more limited.

I really don't want this thread to turn into a "You should have gotten different rims" thread.. I love my rims and tires, they are exactly what I want and give the car the look that I was going for

Sorry I wasn't flaming you or anything, I just didn't know. I assumed you were full STi drivetrain for some reason. Yeahh you don't want to go much wider than 8.5 on the 5x100 hubs, but 8.5 is plenty wide, but you just simply don't need a widebody for that size rim, but like you said, you ARE running 265's

No worries.. the question always comes up when I list my rim/tire specs

when you retrofit the projectors in, I think you should repaint your bezels black. The color is nice, but there doesn't seem to be enough contrast going on in the front of the car. black fmic too. good luck!

It´s not rattle can
Not with those gold flakes...

Correct me if I´m wrong, but that looks plenty professional/custom to me.

The paint did come from a rattle can.. It is textured paint that is usually used for Nerf/Step bars for trucks.

It has a texture much like 200 grit sand paper and is quite funky... in low sunlight the paint just looks like a flat grey... but when the sun comes out, all you can see is the metalic fleck..

It is the look I was going for, I didn't want a polished finish and wanted something that looked more utilitarian and like it would eat small children and animals that crossed its path

It is really funny when the car is at shows and people touch the paint.. they can't resist it and then go crazy over it calling their friends to come and check it out.

Anyone who has seen the paint in person have given me nothing but compliments. Car show judges love it and people at shows ask me if I would do the same for their cars if they pay me to do it..

It's not everyone's cup of tea..... But I absolutely love it

Yeah, I'm not knocking the concept, but it's just plain impossible, no matter how skilled you are, to get paint on evenly with a rattle can... the hood in particular from some angles looks kinda funky. I think as a "last step" it would be worth it to get your hands on some of the paint in bulk quantity, and either get a good gun or have somebody shoot it for you.

And so the UPS guy was nice to me yesterday...

Some nice Brian Crower Springs and Titanium retainers

To save on some shipping costs I also picked up some 1mm oversized valves for next years porting and built bottom end project

And then... my favorite... 272 CAMS!!!

Sorry about the blurry picture (cheap camera), but here is the spec sheet..

Also, these showed up from RallyDecals.com... they will be finding a place on the car as well in another little side project
