Actually, he'd be in ESP unless he runs the stock or a custom map on that AP.

I'd dial out some rear camber in that setup too.

I'm a iwsti member and can't start a new thread here because i just signed up. I was interested in TiC's subframe bushing but wasn't sure if it was STU legal... can anyone here chime in?

I'm very familiar w/ the rules, and yes it's technically metal, but it's not replacing the current bushing, it's an addition. so would it be legal?

I would say no since it increases the amount of metal in the bushing:

"Subframe mount bushings may be replaced, but must attach in
the factory location(s) without additional modification or changes.
Subframe position may not be changed. The amount of metal in
a replacement bushing may not be increased relative to the
amount of metal found in a standard bushing for the particular
application
. Solid metal bushings are specifically prohibited."

I very much agree, I don't think they are. I have something similar for mine and they are just rubber.

OK, didnt look at the link, just went off of when he said they were metal. If they are not metal then they should be perfectly legal in stu.

"These sandwich between the retainer plate and the stock bushing to fill a void in the stock bushing. "

Do they occupy some of the same space that the OEM bushing does?

It may be illegal not because of metal content, but because there is no allowance for filling voids between retainers and stock bushings.

Yeah can replace bushings, which means you could fill in the voids that way. As long as they don't add more metal, which they don't, they are perfectly legal.

Did you see Doug's prices for his next tune trip. He said it would only take an hour on the dyno to do the 08 and both maps. comes to 280 bucks. Sweet talking the wife now. Just got a price from Josh on the dp.

Just ordered Racecomp Engineering Tarmac 2's with 600lbs/500lbs spring rates. I'll still have the 400lbs as well in case I want to play around with them. I'm planning on going with the "high spring rate/small sway bar" crowd. Picking up some adjustable Whiteline bars in 24mm for the front and 22mm for the rear. We'll see how that setup plays out and go from there.

Also instead of buying an entirely new exhaust, I'm going to have Hill and the guys at Agile Auto weld a 3.5" cat into the downpipe of the APS 3.5" turbo back exhaust that I got with the car. Should save some cash and hopefully provide a touch more power when tuned.

Getting the exhaust setup finished in the next few weeks, then waiting until mid/end of February to purchase the bars, bushings, a few power mods, etc. Also planning on doing a new thread for the full STU build with details and updates throughout the season.

What won't help? The mods won't make me go faster because I suck as a driver?

That's fine...wasn't sure if you were busting on me or that my proposed modifications weren't actually helpful. Trying to make sure I mod it right the first time, so making sure you weren't trying to tell me I was making the wrong modifications. I figured it was probably the former but wanted to make sure.

A better way to make sure you're understood is to say "It won't help you drive any faster." See how that works?

I'm definitely planning to as soon as I actually start getting parts in the door. Give me about a month and it should get going. There should be a lot of parts to update with at that time.

My Ohlins arrived! Too bad they won't go on until late March due to New England winters. I'm registered for an HPDE at Lime Rock April 4th so I kinda gotta get the timing right with installs and the weather. More like just pray.

That's why I moved away from CT. It snowed on my Birthday one year, 24th of April, so I decided no more snow. Now I live in GA and we autocross and have DE's 11 months a year The downside is you never have much time to work on the car in the off season.
