I decided to do a brake swap and finally got around to fixing the sagging IC pipe shown in the pictures above.
Following Stimpy's thread on this subject... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ght=SVX+master I didn't like the spongy brake feel after the swap. I decided to swap in an SVX brake master cylinder and upgrade to 4/2 pot brakes and new rotors. While the brakes were ok, there was still too much brake pedal travel for my liking. The install was pretty straight forward and has been documented several times so I'll refrain from posting the details of the swap. Parts used were as follows:
4/2 pot brakes
eBay drilled and slotted rotors
2006 WRX pads (PBR / Axxis pads)
1991-1995 SVX Brake Master Cylinder
Kartboy rear brake caliper adapters
I did have to remove the rear dust shields due to the larger rotors. Some folks have drilled the spot welds (I did one this way - see pics), but I opted to use a small pry bar and channel locks and it worked fine. The master cylinder took a little over an hour to swap, but everything bolted up. I did have to splice the master cylinder wiring since the SVX clip was different than the '98L clip, but that was easy.

Single Pot Rears:
Rear Dust Cover Removed:
Kartboy Adapter Brakets:
JDM 2 Pots Installed:
JDM 4 Pots Installed:
After bedding the pads, I couldn't believe the difference! The brake travel has been significantly reduced with excellent braking. Thanks to Stimpy and Legacy777 for this mod. For those who have swapped rear disks from drums, have a single brake booster and no ABS, I'd highly recommend this mod.
