That must be awesome!

Now for the tickets... You can only get a ticket for tint from the state you're registered in, SO... if you don't drive in that state than you should just get hassled. I know this due to experience.

It's a federal law in all 50 states that you can not have any tint on the front windshield.

In some states you can tint your front two windows, see you local state laws.

Most of New England states are no tint on all three front windows and no darker than 35% foor the back.

Obviously doesn't mean anything to me!

In Florida I know for sure that you can tint all the windows except the windshield or course.

I really wish I lived in other states. NY has such strict tinting laws. By law the front cannot be lower than 75% (which is barely tinted at all!)

Yeah, it sucks. With the 5-door I can go 20% on the rear, but 75% on the front wasn't worth even doing... so I did 50%. I'm older and don't "cruise the strip" much, so I'm thinking I should be okay. I also intentionally did not get the top of the windshield done to avoid more attention being drawn to the car/tint job. Your car looks great though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. The black interior makes it look darker.

In NY you can ONLY tint your rear window legally. You can't tint the rear windows or the fronts. That's the law but obviously its up to your own discretion and since you will get nailed for anything its go big or go home because the ticket will cost the same no matter if its 5 percent or 50 percent.

Default Tint on back window

I have an 05 WRX so the radio antenna is built into the back window. I heard that tint can interfere with radio reception, but then someone told me that it would only affect AM stations and not FM. Anyway, has anyone experienced problems listening to the radio after getting their tint?

Not at all true. Front 2 can be no darker than 70%. and Rear can be no darker than "factory" tint- which can be interpreted differently depending on the car.

Actually its 100 percent true. I am talking about a sedan. Not a hatch or wagon or suv. On a sedan neither the front or back can be more than factory. And adding anything to factory is more than factory so no tints. Only the rear windshield can have tint.

Again, still not true. Not sure where you are getting your information from. I have talked to 2 NY Troopers and 1 local Sheriff and gotten the same answer from all 3.

And my point about the factory tint is that some cars come out with tint on them (many SUV's, but there are the occasional sedan), mainly on the back.

Since what I have encountered is just "talk" from L.E., Can you cite what you are trying to prove?

I've recently tried wingless badgeless trunk. like it a lot. just got a cf rear window vane and i got 05 smoked tailights on. definitely a work in progress. btw. this is 40% on all 5 windows. thinking of going to 30%

edit:NV laws say as dark as you want on back 3 windows. front two have to be no less than 35% with a 7% tolerance, which means 28% is as low as I could go. none on front window. I'm thinking of going pretty dark now!
