Default safe to use scratch-x on new car?

I purchased an 11 Impreza the other week and today a neighbor's dog tried to lick my face while I was inside my car. In the end, I have 6 long but light scratches from the dog's paws. My fingernails don't catch on them, but they are easily visible from many feet away. I've buffed out scratches before on older cars, but was wondering if something like Scratch X 2.0 would be safe to use on a new car since the paint is new? I plan on using my buffer to take these annoying scratches out. Any other products you guys want to recommend?
