Default SOA applies for XV CROSSTREK and CROSSTREK trademarks

Earlier this week, SOA applied for US trademarks for XV CROSSTREK and for CROSSTREK. Since SOA, and not FHI, applied for these trademarks, it might be inferred one of these marks will be used for new Subaru XV when it arrives in North America.

Plural "Crosstreks" sounds quite a bit like "cross-dress", but it's not too bad of a name, IMHO. Thanks for the find, CBB.

Crappy cliche name, but I trust the vehicle itself will be nice.

'Crosstrek' is rather similiar to 'Crosstour', just as 'BRZ' is to 'CR-Z'

How about "Crosstrek XV"? Sounds cleaner to put the letters after the main name in my opinion...

Why do car manufacturers insist that the more consonants a model name has, the stronger/more performant it is. Sigh. Impreza XV Crosstrek with crosssymetrical awd?

2.5 iXV X-trek Xawd?

It is actually not a bad name, especially if the Crosstrek is going to market towards the image of outdoors, offroad crowd. It falls in line with the Outback nameplate.

Impreza isn't exactly an attractive name in itself either.

In the end, it is just a name.

Crosstrek implies the vehicle will have appeal across all of the Star Trek shows, be it the classic Star Trek, or Deep Space Nine. Hmm... You could have the Crosstrek Kirk edition with rock-crawling capabilities, or the Crosstrek Picard edition could be the technology package.

So the Deep Space Nine edition would suck then?

That's pretty funny because it's true.

It would be the only 4EAT edition that Subaru offered at the time. haha

The DS9 model would be the Limited Edition Eddie Bower model with the H6. For high-class individuals who actually care about something special.

I think you mean LL BEAN. Eddie Bauer was on the Ford Explorer - Star Wars Phantom Menace Edition.

The DS9 model would suck for the first three years in production, but then they would add in some action (turbo) and a tight storyline (sport suspension) and it would be one of the best subaru models ever...but by that time no one would care.

I'm not proud.

I don't know what they are thinking. Outback Sport has plenty of brand equity to it and XV Crosstrek sounds retarded. Subaru, why do they do the things they do.
