At the Track Straight Pipe Review

I thought I would right up a brief review of the P and L straight pipe, or any straight pipe for that matter. I am currently running a ported and polished vf34 turbo, catless hks up pipe, catless invidia down pipe and P and L cat back, NO CATS, NO RESONATORS. (many other upgrade, figured id just start with the turbo and go back)

First and foremost, I am not a huge fan of the cans on any mufflers, cobb, invidia(previous exhaust) or others alike. The straight pipe looks clean and subtle, but is understood by car enthusiast for what it really is.

The general consensus prior to buying was that I will not like how loud and raspy it was. But I could not be more happy with the sound. Upon start up, it roars, sounds more like a v-8, while maintaining the boxer sound. Driving at slow speeds and shifting early will leave you with as much turbo whistle as you can imagine and have you questioning why you had not done this earlier. Regular driving is hardly much different under 3k (compared with my n1 race) but anything over that it just opens up. Now let me say I am young and do not mind being 'too' loud, that being said, I think it is a bit obnoxious when you get on it. I plan on having my car for the long home so i typically drive conservatively and shift before 3 grand regularly. (I average 24mpg city)

Loud (if thats what you are looking for)
Ridiculous turbo whistle
No cabin drone while cruising
Clean look

Loud (if that's not what you are looking for)
Can be a bit raspy
Cops will hate you if you 'drive it like you stole'

There is no comparison to a open DP, I ran that for the days prior to installing this and it's just not the same. The extra 6 ft of piping clears up the sound immensely and eliminates most of the raspy sound that the open downpipe brings.
