So I know this is completely wrong year car and way different situation. Ive got an 02 wrx. I did a complete swap over to auto. . So things that were changed is this: transmission, driveshaft, rear dif, pedal assembly, shifter assembly, under dash harness (Have to, 5spd harness doesnt have the plugs for the auto), instrument cluster, ecu. I am sure there is some stuff missing but simply put you would never know the car wasnt an auto from the factory. My problem is the same flashing A/T fluid temp hot. Fluids are at the right levels. Car seems to drive fine. Just dont know what the problem is. Oh, my brake lights work like a charm.

Did you swap out the radiator for the AT cooling lines?

That's not good ! Hahahahaha I had similar problem with my dsg 09 turbo jetta after bolt ons and a stage 2 flash and a lot of beating under warranty .. u should probly beat on it more ! Or get a k20A swapped Honda so it can take the abuse, and hopefully it wont get stolen like mine did . Then u end up getting a subaru and loving it because its the best of all worlds - Awd turbo manual winning

Joe, yes tranny lines were installed(OEM).

Ok so I figured out my turboxs tuner was causing the flashing light. Evidently the tcu and ecu communicate. The TCU limits torque taking readings from the ECU. I really need to find someone with a good base tune for a 4EAT.

Default 2012 Sub Impreza AT OIL TEMP light on

Curious to see if anyone has a fix for this. Dealer says that Subaru is aware of the problem but that there is no fix for it yet.

We live in So. Utah so it gets hot, 90-100. When driving at distances (after 1.5 hours usually) the AT OIL TEMP light comes on. We pull over, let it cool down and it goes off, but we have to drive at 60mph or else it will come back on. Speed limit is 80mph. Our car has 71,000 miles on it. This has been going on since about 40k ish maybe- seems like it has always been an issue.

This past weekend when the temp was about 75 it happened after 1.5 hours so I am no longer convinced it is only happening when it is hot outside. We never have towed anything. We have bikes on top sometimes but this last time we didn't have anything on top.

We don't know what to do. Change CVT fluid? New transmission cooler? Subaru dealership has not been helpful at all with this. Any ideas? We have had the brake light switched out a few times because that failed. I saw that posted and wondered if maybe the two were somehow related. Problem seems to be getting worse. Thank you so much for any advice! We are at a lose- love the car but if we can't drive it long distances we don't know what to do. Thank you!

Absolutely change out CVT fluid if it's never been done before. I believe Subaru recommends it be changed @ 60k last I checked. Also, if you use cruise control on your trips, try one without it. This car tends to do a lot of engine braking, especially going down hills. You may also try disabling it only while descending downhill, and then re-enabling it afterwards.

Thanks! I'll have them change out the CVT fluid. Is it odd that they have not recommended that? We live about 45 minutes from the dealer we usually go to but if we go north 3 hours we are in Salt Lake where we might have better luck there. I'd say we use cruise maybe 50/50 on long drives so I'll make sure we don't use cruise next time and see if that changes anything. Thanks!

Can't say I'm surprised. I've had a service advisor at one of my local dealers tell me the brake pads on this car didn't have wear indicators . Needless to say, I ran outta there.

Wish you the best of luck!
