Default Any issues with phase1/ phase 2 hybrid and using timing light?

so trying to sync ignition timing and cylinder 1 is flashing completely opposite the timing marks on the timing belt cover (2004 wrx timing belt cover) on my hybrid build.

here is my build thread and below are the cliff notes:

Ej22t shortblock with ej22t crank, custom pistons and forged rods
ej207 v7 heads (with kelford 272 non-avcs cams)

2004 wrx crank sprocket (crank timing reference)
2004 wrx cam gears (cam timing reference)

UMS adjustable idler pulleys to sync teeth on cam and crank and new gates timing belt. Timing per belt is perfect (had to get it perfect for AEM to stat sync)

Using a v1 aem ecu. The ecu is synced and fuel and spark are verified as working on all cylinders. On start up car sputters and wont turn over and run on its own. IE timing is way off.

anything i'm missing with trying to time this as you would a normal 2004 wrx?

I have a P1 ej22 (N/A block, but it shouldn't matter) and V7 heads, and I had no issues with timing. But I am using the V7 ecu and Kelford AVCS cams

what cam position sensors are in the heads? if your running a non avcs cam, I believe the pickups are different.

Did you ever figure out what was wrong? I am having very similar symptoms as you. Fuel, spark, etc but will not start. The timing belt is on correctly verified by counting teeth.
