Default Can I replace heat shield with heat wrap? Where to start wrapping?

I have seen quite a number of posts including unabomber's post on wrapping the headers and uppipe. But they have seemed to cause me to ask more questions.

I bought a TurboXS GT turboback used for my '13 WRX hatch. I installed it and noticed some rubbing on the heat shield behind the transmission and the midpipe. A friend and I spent some time tweaking the bolts but I still get a buzz. I called TurboXS and asked them about putting on KartBoy's XL 12mm hangers and they said that I shouldn't buy them and told me to tweak the exhaust.

So I came to the conclusion that I should wrap the exhaust and remove the heat shield. After reading unabomber's post I feel that I might need to wrap the headers all the way back to my trouble spot. But that is like 150 feet of wrap.

So has anyone used the kartboy hanger's with this exhaust. Any thoughts on the wrap, does it need to start at the headers and go back?
