una mesa mas amigos. one more month. hopefully we can get some good weather, last year was insane how nice it was man. Or, we could get ice on sand roads with no salt. THAT would fascinate me that far south.

Want to know what goes into preparing a rally car? Technology like this:

Remotely consoled into a laptop connected to my car... in the next state!

I should be able to make it down. How bad are snow tires in the sand?

Snow tires are the poor man's rallycross tires. We took the Miata one year. You'll be fine... I'll pack a tow strap just in case, though.

My impreza made it ok, but i have some background on dirt and such.I have mud and snow all terrain tires on her, and the awd just went flawlessly.

Wish I was in the area for this, had a blast when I went down with Brock. +1 to rain gear and volunteering. Somewhere there is a picture of me with a motorcycle mid-air not 12 inches in front of my face. I stepped back a bit from the caution tape after that.

Next time I'm in the States I'll be a Ham operator, should be helpful (and fun).

Leaving for Cheraw in about 4 hours. New competitor orientation tomorrow. First stage rally in our "new" rally car on Saturday. Car 47 - yell "WHOOOOOO!!!" at us, if you're working or spectating.

We won! And had a lot of good times in the car, and hanging out with everybody. And I get to go to rally school at The FIRM for free, because I was the driver for the fastest novice team.

Hey Fred, what car did you drive?

My son was so excited to see the rally he made sure he saw every car on the stages. Had me wait extra 5 minutes after I thought last car came thru.

Fred was in the silver RS.. it was the car that Smith/Lantzy took to the overall season win in '10 & '11.

So, Tim.. this was the first Sandblast I've been to (and I've been every year for 7 years) with snow falling before the Parc Exposé. It was chilly.
