I had stopped out to John's house the day before you flew out. I had to say goodbye to our friend of many years haha

The car was really a true sports car. We took the thing to Long Beach one day and Travis Pastrana was straight jockin' it!

That's awesome, glad you got to see it one last time in California!

I have a tune date at the beginning of next month to remove the Utec and get it running properly on the 92octane in WA. Will get to see official numbers of what it's putting down! The DCCD controller will be installed before then too.

First mod that I've done, had a friend bend this up for me. Not sure if I will run this all the time, but its fun.

On the first corner a deer was on the edge of the roadway, which set the tone for my driving style the rest of the way. When I was reading through this and read "deer", my stomach dropped thinking you hit a deer. Deers and cars do not mix haha, but I love the car! When it was for sale I would always look at it again to see the pictures. Congrats on the purchase, I'm sure you're loving it!

Sweet ride, what a great buying and driving experience. Sounds like tons of fun.

I grew up just North of SF and used to go tear up Hwy 1 regularly. Such and awesome road, great twistys and phenomenal views up and down the coastline. I've road tripped 2x down 101 and 1 from Pdx and had a blast doing it. I could rip up Hwy 1 everyday...

Nice ride!

The gf and I took my 2008 up the coast to SLO/Templeton about a month ago. I am sure you noticed how bumpy the I-5 is down in SD, but once you get past Santa Barbara area, the roads turn into smooth ribbons of tarmac for the next few hours.

Enjoy that GC!

Thanks! My friend has yet to edit the video, I think you can see it jumping off the road but it may have been too dark.

Thank you! One of the only other places I would want to live besides washington, in the states, is just north of SF. Tearing up Highway 1 everyday would be a blast.

I had the car re-flashed just on the factory Spec-C ECU. The tune on the UTEC was not the best for the conditions in Washington and also seemed to be spiking hard from the 3-4.5k range. The tuner said that he had to bump the fuel by 15%. Boost is now set to 20psi and makes 313whp and 325wtq on a Dynocom. The power is very smooth all the way to redline

Took 5 down to the Oregon/CA border, then took the Redwood over to the 101, then followed that all the way down until LA. The Redwood Highway is SCARY at night.. specially when towing something...

Yeah it is a bit nerve racking at night. I still need to edit some of the video from the trip, I'll post that up when I get that done.

Don't even not do it! I do like the simplicity of your rs when the retro'd JDM's headlights are in!

As for an update, I have been just enjoying the car since the tune(see video below!). Trying to decide what to do next has been a challenge. I have a few parts that I have been waiting to install, but one of them needs paint first and some cutting to occur before install. I would also like to take out the whole interior for a respray, dirt and scratches have been building up plus this would give me time to install the 5/6 points of the belts.

I plan on selling the S202 wing, it just hasn't grown on me. The GC05F's may get listed as well. I'm also contemplating switching the hubs to 5x114.3. This puts me in a predicament with the Rotora BBK. I would have to buy new rotors and hats which would cost more than a set of used STi brembos. That doesn't include $600+- for Rotora's pads I would buy at the same time. It would make it a rather expensive car to track more than a few times a year.

Currently, the car is on jack stands getting new wheel bearings. They were getting bad from the track time John put on the car and my cruising these last 6 months (hence the want to switch to 5x114.3). I plan on installing a new timing belt/waterpump/pulleys plus change all the tranny and diff fluid soon.

The car won Best GC at WCSS14 this summer, but not before frying the walbro fuel pump 5 miles from the campsite at a gas station. Had to pull all of our camping gear out to bang on the pump before it started up again. It died again about 1,000 feet before the entrance.

I had cut and polished her up nice before the show (iirc that was a 600+hp gc next to it)

Video from one of the dyno pulls. EL FTW.

Some random pictures:

Nice pics!

Check out Lic motorsport's 5x114 to 5x100 knuckle conversion for a cheaper alternative to converting.

Don't get rid of the wing! Because racecar! Hell, it has a cage in it. Its meant for the track.

Thank you! Something a bit more racecar'ish will take the S202's place down the road.

Their conversion is a really cool piece, the price point is just too high compared to OEM take-offs.

It would be $1500 to get the front set-up and I wouldnt even get the drop center modification. For that price I can change my front bearings out 10 times in my garage.

To get their end all be all kit with the modified geometry knuckles it would be $3000. Plus at least $2000 in new pads/ 5x114.3rotors/hats for the Rotoras. Just so I can keep the $1000 Tein Coilovers and I would still have to buy new wheels.

The most cost effective way to do it is buy some 5x114.3 knuckles with brembos and the LIC speedo adapters for about $1500. Then new coilovers and some good sized 5x114.3 wheels. Then sell the rotoras to offset the price.

For now, I will probably just stick with the 5x100 waiting for a good deal on some 5x114 take-offs with brembo's. The BRZ/FRS market has opened up so many new options for 5x100 wheels.

I guess I haven't loaded pictures online in awhile. I will do that soon.

The car has been swapped to 5x114.3 because 1 of the wheel bearings was making noise once I got to Seattle. When I finally pulled the hubs off a few months after that 3 of the 4 were shot. New inverted BC coilovers, TSS fab adjustable lateral links, WL Roll center adjusters, Powdercoated STi brembos - The Rotoras have been sold and now I can fit 17's. Whiteline FSB and a few bushings here and there. Got rid of the Depo headlights and the smoked tails. In place are painted OEM headlights and brand new JDM tails. I found my dream exhaust - GramLights 57Dragon in full Ti so the Nur Spec has been taken off and sold. I'm sure there are a few other things too I can't think of...

A lot of maintenance work recently - timing belt as the motor was nearing 10 years old, water pump etc, all fluids. There was an electrical issue with the Fuel pump controller so I re-wired that and found one of the male connectors had broke (looked like it was over crimped ) and a couple wires were a bit stiff. Running great now.

I have a set of 40mm widebody quarters sitting in the garage and 17x9 +22 advan RG2 BNIB waiting to go on. I still have that can of paint you gave me. I'm honestly been debating between putting all that on, getting simple pocket flairs, just driving it as is or possibly listing the car for sale . GC market is hot right now.

I'm still finding and removing all of the random stickers you had on the car . The unamused behind the rear bumper got me laughing. For now I'm still enjoying it as and making little changes as I go.
