psychotichobbies this thread is all N/a USDM. try searching http://www.northursalia.com/

The outcome of this was good. I ended up blowing the HG on the 2.5d...put the sohc back in and the car had a slight hiccup at 3200rpm idle issues and cel. I still have all the na stuff and might do something with it soon for now ive done a wrx merge and am more than happy at the way its going.

Im sorry my earlier post is such a mess. it is fixed/edited for better clarity.

before anyone says it, I know, holy old thread batman, but I used the search, and the "read here first". I have a 1998 legacy brighton wagon with a phase 2 2.2. what started as easy headgaskets turned into cracked heads and the only local guy with heads broke one getting it off the block. so, I found a phase 2 2.2 with 120 k for 200 bucks, I also have the harness and computer for that car/engine just in case. I dropped it in, adapted my phase 1 intake harness to fit the new plugs, swapped crank and left bank cam pulley, and it runs. it just doesn't idle for crap. this is my daily driver and cant sit for more than a day or 2 at the most. im getting a p0505 IAC code. I also live in NH so I need it to pass emissions, "no sniff test, just computer test". my question is, am I going to need to install this entire harness and the phase 2 computer to be emissions compliant and get it to run decent? or is there another way I haven't tried?
