Default Do I need to purchase a master gasket kit?

As some of you may have seen, I recently sheared off part of my passenger side head. Well, we are pulling the motor and I am taking it to a shop to have the new heads installed. Should I purchase a master gasket kit or can I get away with new head and valve cover gaskets? (Unsure of what other gaskets are being removed, are there any gaskets valve related?)

you don't need a master gasket kit, but I would recommend it. Your car is old, while the heads are off, this would be the time to replace and refresh everything you can without going internal to the shortblock, i.e. valve cover breather gaskets, oil cooler"warmer" gasket, inspect and replace as needed, cam gaskets, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets etc..

yea i probably should have when i did my rebuild. i only bought what i thought i needed and it worked out fine. i ended up buying alot of gaskets and stuff, and probably wouldve been easier just to get the kit.
