Default are 2014's availble?

Are 2014 foresters available in the US? My dealer site lists some but they all say "in transit".

We just received our accessory inventory for the 2014 so I am sure they are due into our dealership within a few weeks

Yes. They're arriving now. They're in RI and Mass and my local dealer got a delivery yesterday.

Yep. Go see these guys. My guy is Bob and I took a (the only) 14 base 6sp out today. I reviewed it in the News & Rumors thread.

Most dealers around me in MA have them in (Patrick, Long and Steve Lewis). They look really nice and can't wait to test drive. Unfortunately they seem to be treating the XT like a bastard child again. Some dealers have none on order while only 1 dealer has just 1 coming in. It is shame they are treating the 2014 XT as if it is anything like the 2013 XT. It is really a big step up for the performance minded buyer. Evidentally the dealers don't think so. I hope they wise up. I plan on replacing my VW with the XT but it seems like it will be a while until I can even test drive it. Good news is there seems to be plenty of manuals to go around for those who don't want the turbo.

My local dealer appears to have some now. Only CVT's though. Why don't they offer an XT with a stick?

Where at?
We just checked out the 2.5 Touring and XT Premium in Shingle Springs yesterday.
The Costco fleet discount isn't even on the books yet - how'd you get it at invoice?

I just bought a 2014 2.5 Limited two days ago. I went through the Costco program and they did have the Costco invoice pricing. I am in the Chicagoland area.

I'm interested in an XT premium but, at this point, XTs seem few and far between(at least in my area). Give it a few more weeks and there should be more avaiblabe. There's plenty of 2.5 models.

Same here. Very few XTs and they don't last long. Most are touring. I went to look at a xt premium last Sat. Drove over an hour got there it had 300 miles in less than a week from test drives and was sold while I was on the road.
Found one Tuesday night and got it. Going to pick up up sat am.

Just picked it up today. My wife is super stoked. Lol she got home and told me she finally understand how people felt following her up hills in her 98 OBW... Slow!
I might have to buy her a radar detector now...

Got my wife to test drive an XT today and she is on board!

What is everyone's experience so far with price? I was told I could order one based off of an online build (MSRP) and add the typical fees.

So in my case:
Black Forester XT Premium with no Accessories
$28,820 (online build)
$489 for destination
$8.50 state fees
$50 +6% sales tax
$125 for tag/title

Totals about $31,221.70

I'm waiting for the dealership to give me an actual printout. I'll ask other dealerships but is the supply/demand forcing MSRP right now?

I think it depends on the area you're at. I've only seen 2 XT Premiums in my area (western NY) There are a few XT Tourings and lots of 2.5i's. I live in a very popular Subaru area and one of the closest dealers is one of the largest in the country. I got prices from all of them and I could have gotten a slightly better price had I ordered one I found basically what we wanted on the lot with about 30 miles and got it for invoice without haggling at all.

Soloz2, how long ago was this? I'm just curious if you were just ahead of the game or if this was pretty recent. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure he just picked the car up a few days ago. You should be able to get one for around invoice. XT premiums are rare atm, but production hasn't ramped up for them yet. If you order one you will probably get a better price. Some dealers will give preferred pricing to nasioc members if they post as a vendor here on nasioc.

We've actually been planning on purchasing a new car for my wife for several months now. She received a promotion at work in January which means she will travel to our other offices from time to time. I wanted something a bit newer for her than the 98 OBW with 234k than she was driving and she originally decided she wanted a '13 Impreza Sport Premium. She wanted an auto so the WRX was out of the question. I had read about the new '14 Forester XT and had been watching for when they became available locally to test drive. We actually went about a month ago and test drove the first XT Touring we could find, decided that's what we wanted but absolutely did not want the leather seats so premium it was. Just over a week ago I found a Premium a little over an hour away and as soon as I got out of work on Saturday we drove up to drive it. It was red, which wasn't the color we wanted but we didn't really want to order and wait so we were ready to talk price and went back. Turns out they sold it while we were still on the way to the dealer, but didn't tell us that and let us test drive it anyway! wth? anyway we had decided to order from the dealer we usually go to when I found a blue one at another dealer. I called Tuesday, they had it so we again went up after work and were there until after close but got it. We went back Saturday morning to pick it up and sign the paperwork.

All in all I think I got lucky. Found one on the lot with only 32 miles meaning everyone and their uncle hadn't driven it yet and got it for invoice. All in all I'm pleased. I could have gotten it a few hundred less had I ordered through the first dealer I went to, but then I would have had to wait and my wife was impatient. So, happy wife = happy me!
