Don't have any night images yet... It gets dark at 9:30 here and I'm sleeping by then during the week, lol. Probably this weekend I'll take some.

Cheers!

Great Write Up. I was looking to see if there was a way to paint the chrome a color similar to the Blue shrouds on the Skyactive Mazdas

What's the point of painting the reflectors black instead of just throwing them out? I can't really see that part in the completed headlight, so I can't see what it looks like assembled. I just usually throw it out and didn't know if I was missing something. Nice work, btw!

A little off topic, but does anyone know if WRX tail lights for a 2007 would be compatible on just a regular 2007 Impreza?

Looks really good with the painted reflectors. When I did mine I didn't do that. I like the way they both look equally though.

Awesome job! Never thought on using metal cast to paint the reflector bowls. Imma do this next time I refresh my head lights!

Want pics with the high beams on!

Did you notice any major decrease in light output from the highbeams?

It's not a good idea to clean the inside of the lenses at all. They have a special film on the internal side that shouldn't be touched during the process.

With them opened up, you can easily paint them any color you want

The reflectors are a huge part of the light, if you just leave them out, you will have a 3"x4" gap in the park/turn area and have a big chrome section to look at. I chose to paint it black to blend in with the rest of the housing.

If you don't paint them and just take them out, they will blend well with the park/turn area. Since I darkened mine down a bit, I felt going all black made if flow with the rest of the black housing better.

Working on it. I thought I would have time during the WBM show but never did, soon!

Yeah, I would guess about 10-15% decrease in output. Hard to tell but the yellow color tricks my eyes to thinking the light is sharper so I feel I actually see better.

Haha, I've been asked to do crazier things lately.
Nope, no sanding or priming. The lights are completely dust and oil free before they are sealed so as long as you don't touch anything with a greasy finger, you should be fine.

If they are foggy on the inside, they may have been split already. Unless you installed aftermarket bulbs and didn't put the covers back on correctly. Once they go into the oven they will dry out naturally. Look for any bad seals or o-rings when you take them apart.

Sure, if you have dust, you can blow that off for sure. Just make sure you hold it upright. That frozen spray of death that comes out of there will ruin the paint if you hold the can upside down

bull**** use a clean
BRAND NEW microfiber towel and a window cleaner and gently clean the inner lense. spray the chemical on the towel and not the lense. and hold it up to the light to make sure your not scratching it. ive done numerous sets now with this method since mine had condensation in them due to a crack in the rear. fixxed it 100% with NO DAMAGE
