Default Stage 2.5 06 WRX, suggested clutch?

Soooo I have a 06 WRX limited wagon. Bought it about two and a half years ago with 42k miles, clutch was replaced, autoXed the vehicle maybe twice, race it in straight lines occasionally, and have had my fun with it. Not sure if it needs a clutch anytime soon but I am looking into it. Currently has 84,xxx miles. Clutch starting to feel less and less grab, im not sure just yet, going to have a friend look at it (Subie tech at stealership)

Vehicle runs on a vf39 COBB stage 3 "off the shelf" map.

the real question I have is, should I spend over $400+ dollars on an upgraded clutch, or just replace the stock with OEM style excedy? I do not have any issues with the stock clutch so far, but for reference reasons, I'd like to hear some insight from people with experience.

Mine started to slip when entering an interstate say in 4th gear and got into boost.

Expect to have your flywheel resurfaced. Sometimes shops have used and resurfaced flywheels ready to swap. If the shop drops your trans you'll need replacement fluids. Consider replacing the axle and prop shaft seals. Good time to inspect and consider upgrading trans and/or motor mounts.

5 spds love a clutch that gives a bit, as does the oem. Helps to lessen shock load that breaks gears. Subaru oem, Excedy or ACT (and prob others) oem and oem style clutches.

I have an ACT heavy duty clutch - still organic like oem - that holds lots of torque...but also have a 6 spd.

if the clutch, when new, does not slip, you do not need to upgrade.

i believe that's been said before. it's still true.

OEM and only OEM.

I ran my vf39 285/325 for 30k and it held fine.

Would you rather have your clutch be the fuse or the transmission be the fuse that pops when u rip through 3rd

A new oem clutch is much cheaper than another trans or a rebuilt trans. So, as a few others have said, getting another oem clutch with either a resurfaced stock flywheel or get this kit here with a lightened flywheel:
