Default Vag Com 805.1 on 2011 wrx?

So, I did some research and found that 08+ WRXs use a CAN BUS connection, and the old vag com 409.1 cables don't work on them because of such. I also noticed that Vag Com has an 809.1 that supports CAN BUS.

Has anyone used this cable on their WRX? I work in IT and know that a cable is a cable, just need to have the right drivers. I gotta assume that the vag com cable would work just the same, no?

Did you ever try this? I'm wondering the same thing for my 08 WRX.

Its the interface chip in the cable itself that allows or doesn't support CAN. I haven't heard of the 809.1 I'll have to look into that
