Very nice! Are you running it with the GrimmSpeed Up-Pipe and EWG dump?

Is it like other TurboSmart products and the cap just unscrews?

I am curious how it compares to the Tial MV-S, at least for street use.

Yes I will be swapping to an EWG version of the GrimmSpeed uppipe as well.

I ran both the Trial and the TurboSmart EWG's on my 2011. I greatly preferred the TurboSmart. It is a waaaay smaller physical package, has a better build, and the locking collar is much more convenient than the bolt on cap. On my rotated setup I could actually swap springs without even taking the gate off the car!

Obviously this won't be possible with a stock location setup but I still find the TurboSmart design to be far superior and well worth the money. Once installed and setup correctly I didn't have any issues with either of them.

Lol. I don't think so. I'll either return it or keep it around and toss it back on to try for some bounty.

It was their test unit that I had on loan.

Very nice on the Gate Ben! I agree with what you said above and prefer the turbosmart over the tial. Tial is still a great unit and I own both a 45mm turbosmart and a 44mm tial as you know. Some time ago I spoke to mike at grimmspeed. He said they flow tested different gates. he said the turbosmart 40mm flow over 20% more them the tial 38mm vband. Obviously the 2mm helps but its more about how the gate is designed to flow...

Wow. That's amazing! So much more flow from the exact same flanges and it's a smaller physical package overall! I knew GrimmSpeed switched to only recommending TurboSmart a few years ago but I never knew that much detail. Basically all the local shops are now recommending TurboSmart. They just seem like the better option at this point. The water cooling of the Tial really adds to the size and no one uses it.

I sent out my headlights to Overland Designs for restoration. Here are some "before" photos:

Unfortunately I packed them into and oversize box filled with some pillows and some random pieces of garbage. The headlights were ruined in transit

So, I ended up having to buy some new headlights. I got some DEPO "JDM" style headlights off eBay. Here are some photos of them:

Overall they look very nice! I hope they last. They should look very sharp vs. the old hazy ones I had on before.

Yeah, I can take some photos, but I don't have anything to reference against so it won't do much good. They should look just like normal OEM lights.

Gotcha. I'd imagine you'll see a little improvement over your prior hazed lenses. Best of luck!

Weather needs to warm up over there so you can install and take pics of these parts you keep showing off.

It's been forever since it's been out of the garage. It's getting warmer though. I'd love to get out and take some updated photos soon.

I just discovered this thread last week and I have been playing catch up. The first thing that I noticed in this photo was not the bugeye or Forester but the green Frog tape holding the refrigerator door closed. I have the same problem with our upright freezer in our garage. My wife Frog tapes the snot out of it to keep the door closed as well.

Haha. That was just to hold it shut while it was moved out there. I haven't actually used it in the garage yet. The door had no problem staying shut in the kitchen so hopefully it is fine in the garage too.
