I'm 40 and just dropped off my Superleggerras to be powder coated gold and my lug nuts will be Lazer Polka Dot Pink. Have fun getting old!

My bug isn't slow either. :P

Why so much hate , a build is a build regardless of the level you go too ... visual enhancement's are still modifications !!!

Today was a random warm day here in Michigan. I took the opportunity to swap out my badges this morning.

For comparison:

I'm happy with the subtle new look.

Today I installed the JDM leather/red stitched shifter console to replace the cheap looking plastic one. It wasn't too bad...a little easier having the electronic parking brake instead of the pull brake. It matches nicely.

Nice car. I'm currently waiting for my 2017 CWP CVT Limited. I only have a week left! I do love how the side fender black and white badges turned out, goes great with the white car! I'll definitely want to do that to mine as well.

Are you enjoying the CVT? I've heard mixed reviews. I know mostly everyone on here says why the CVT? Why not manual?

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words.
I like the CVT just fine. It DID have some occasional slipping when cold, but I found an optional TCM update that the dealer flashed for me. It fixed the issue and hasn't returned since.
I drive in 'S' mode in full auto 98% of the time. However, the paddle shifters are fun when give the opportunity to use them.
I don't like or use 'I' mode...find it a bit clumsy and my MPG don't seem to be affected. My complaints are more with the stock tune than the CVT itself.
My wife drives a '15 XT and we haven't had any issues with hers yet...almost 40k miles. She is not an easy going driver.
I do have plans to tune the WRX eventually, but I'm still researching.
As for why I don't drive the manual...honestly, it just doesn't matter to me and I'm a bit lazy when it comes to driving. I drive 21 miles each way to and from work and it takes an hour. You do the math. Lol

I picked this up to mount my iPhone/Cobb AP. It comes with three magnetic mounts...enough for both of my devices. Two have sticky backs that attach to the device itself or you can use the one without and put it between the iPhone and its case. It works great...no moving or falling off even on our terrible Michigan roads. It just snaps right onto your air vent.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind to have the dealer do the TCM update when I go pick mine up next week! Good to hear the Forester XT you have hasn't had issues at 40k miles.

You should be fine. I'm sure the update was already included at this point since it's from early 2016. It's item code: 16-98-16R
It's from Feb. 2016.

Congrats and enjoy! Follow the break in procedures. Get to know the car. Take your time with it. There are some really good threads in here to learn from. This isn't my 'true home' TBH.

I'm swapping out my OEM extended armrest for the JDM dual console and stock cover. I don't like the look of the extended armrest being a hard and flat black plastic.
This is coming out:

...and these are going in:

Found this one online for $20 and it's mint...can't beat that.

Anyway, thanks. I'm all about subtlety. Getting close to 40...too old for flashy style IMHO. To each their own!

I LOVED this comment. I just got my first Subaru and I was really torn on what to get, however due to pressure from budget the WRX was out. The dealership was pushing the Impreza Sport, but I was in the same boat as you are with this. I told the guy I was not midlife crisis enough to need the sport tuned suspension, the spoiler, and the tires that are just going to cost me more to replace...nor am I 16 and trying to impress my friends or street race with them. The GM told me that was the most logical line of reasoning he had heard in a long time.

It's a rainy and gloomy day here so I decided to install the JDM top cover. I followed the YouTube videos I could find. One step was unnecessary...prying away the radio/NAV section. All you need to do is pry away the vent section and the bottom piece that goes over it. A minor knuckle scrape later and here's my lousy picture.

Beer me.

Looks great man! I just started working on mine. So far I've only replaced the air intake and added some carbon fiber. I have a older style STI spoiler coming for it in the next week though and then also a Borla Exhaust on my short order list lol

I installed the JDM dual console armrest after work today. It looks SO MUCH better than that cheap looking extended armrest. I wish I would have never spent the extra money on that accessory when I ordered the car. The OEM cover actually has some padding too. The extended one is pretty much hard.

Love this, my favorite interior mod. I liked how the instructions were in Japanese.
