2500 Miles hit today.

Gripes:

Touchy throttle on launch
weak thigh bolsters
Crap Bluetooth on 6.2" unit (Sometimes I have to unpair it and re-pair it)
Head unit Apps are borderline useless
Also slow reaction on touch
the fact I had to add an aftermarket armrest extension
DRLs are weak (also fixing that via after market)
knowing that the DIT motor is going to have to be walnut blasted

People buy STIs for fuel economy? My average is about 16.5. I do pretty much all city driving except for the holidays when I drive out to family which is maybe in the 20s.

lol. I should rephrase that. I don't like the way they look. weak as in weaksauce. hahaha they should have used the boomerang lights for DRLs. I will be replacing the Boomer lights and the front DRLs with white LEDs since I didnt buy the Limited model.

The C-Lights in the limited/STI suck as well.

My STi constantly spills my coffee no matter which direction I point the vent.

Vent aft, spills on start up. Vent forward, spills on stopping, vent to the side going around corners or over any kind of bump.

I think I'm going to sell it.

- Factory chime when the key is inserted into the ignition
- Touchy throttle pedal
- Crap stereo

Everything else is great! I love this car.

3) notchy shifter feel
4) 1st and 2nd gear in LA rush hour (need driver mod)

Yeah, but then it's going up my nose when I try to drink. Basically this is a uncoffeable car.

I drink coffee, during my commute 5 days a week and have only spilled a couple drops, in 6 months.

this is my 4th manual i've owned, second subaru, and i've driven countless other manuals. it has been a challenge to get first and second smooth 100% of the time

Engineering explained got 35 MPG in a 50ish mile drive, and I was wondering how he did it., since he leads us to believe he was still able to achieve it, even with some boost. Not sure if anyone here has personal experience.
i managed just over 30 on an overcast morning in southern california. i didn't know it was possible. stayed out of boost most the way. not sure of the highway but it may have been downhill.

I sit in Honolulu traffic every afternoon. The best method I found is to get in the lane farthest from exits and entrances and leave a big gap. I try to stay in 1st and carefully manage the throttle. Doesn't work all the time but its the best I can do

If Takumi was driving, I bet he wouldn't have problems keeping that coffee in the cup.

I have the same car. I have noticed all of these things... but thats how they are. I am not going to sit and cry about it..

I tolerate the BS.
tolerating is love and love is what makes a Subaru a Subaru...

I posted in here a few months back when I got my 17 WRX. The flat spot of power at 4000 rpm and the general lack of power just drove me nuts so 2 days ago I picked up a 17 STI. Will update on any complaints, if any, once I break her in properly.
