So is there no lights illuminated as a DRL? I've had my DRL module unplugged for awhile, and forgot to plug it back in when I installed my lights. So I assumed it wasn't lit up for that reason.

But I agree it would be nice to have just the C portion of the light functioning as the DRL.

Correct. If you do not have the DRL "always on" harness, there will be no lights on when the e-brake is down. If you use the harness, the low beam will be on (everything else off). I have my DRL module plugged in still.

Yes I wish the C lights functioned as the DRL. That would be ideal.

Strange. I've just been driving with my parking lights on so it was illuminated.

I have less than no experience with electrical and wiring otherwise maybe I'd try to wire them up as a DRL.

Glad you decided to keep them!

They look awesome on the car! I love how the C light is one solid unit; my biggest complaint with the aftermarket C lights from DD or Morimoto is that they don't fill out the C light lens completely. This looks MUCH more refined.

I'd be interested to compare the light output from the Apollos to an aftermarket HID retrofit. In your opinion, is there a measurable difference between LED/HID in terms of output/cutoff?

Haha yeah I hear ya. Iím fairly familiar with lighting work on cars so I know it can be done. Itís just a matter of doing it correctly.

I really do enjoy the way it updates the front end and the overall performance. The big bump out is what makes me hesitant on them. I️ think itís just me it used to it, but definitely a much larger headlight overall.

I agree. The c light and step lights and completely full. It really does look great.

LEDís have taken big steps lately. They used to suck and couldnít touch the output of normal hid or halogens. Now, itís a different story. I find you can get sharper cutoffs with ledís since you can be more precise. Thereís a larger chance of cutoff bleed for hidís. Theses are definitely one of the better units Iíve experienced thus far.

Two quick snaps in daylight

Any idea why there is no ďalways-onĒ module being sold? I have the diode dynamics one on my BRZ and it works great.

There is. The always on harness comes with the headlights if you get them from subimods. I just chose not to use it for now.

Thanks bud. Definitely suits the car well. Really updates the front end of the car and the output is pretty insane.

Do it man. It's worth the price. I smile every time I get to drive at night now. It's raining today which gave me an excuse to turn the lights on during the day on the drive to work. Made me happy.

Hit up Byrant or Nick at subimod's and tell them I sent you. They are good dudes over there. I got them so quick!

Next up

I think next on the list is tint and changing up the wheels. Tint is definitely needed as the car feels too open. I am over the fishbowl look and prefer something with a bit more privacy. I won't be going any darker than 35%.

I need something with contrast on the car as the black wheels look great, but something with contrast will really set the car off. I did the same thing with my m3 and rocked black wheels for a while, but eventually went to a silver and it really changed the whole perspective of the car. Angles and concave you weren't able to see on the black were jumping out at you on the silver.

I will most likely be going with the Apex EC7's in hyper black, which is a darker silver. I ran 2 separate sets of these wheels (ARC8's) on my m3 and absolutely loved them. It should really be what I am after without having to do any extra suspension/body work to get the wheels to fit. NT03's would be awesome, but quite frankly, I am not sure if I want to go to the extent to get wheels to fit and deal with the side effects of rolling fenders and running serious neg camber.

Not sure when I will get around to knocking all of this out. I would need to list my wheels for sale to make the jump. Not sure if I have the energy yet to deal with low ballers and having to ship out wheels (unless local).

Bright wheels will look really good. Clean is the way to go. Are they forged wheels? Never heard of them.

In regards to your last comment, the 2015+ market is so so awful right now. Not all but most people are coming from other brands and have no understanding of these parts. It has been a massive headache trying to sell anything and especially these headlights I'm trying to part with. I've even had the same guy flake on me twice.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Facebook and Craigslist for as long as you can. I would stick to the forums.

I think so too. It should really give some pop to the car. Every time I see the car, all I keep thinking is it is missing something and I feel some brighter wheels will od the trick.

They are not forged. They are flow formed wheels. Great quality, lightweight, and reasonably priced. I have ran a few sets of theirs on my m3 and they are such a great bang for your buck.

Luckily, everything I have put up for sale has sold. I found it takes a little bit more time to weed out the flakes, but it eventually sells. My headlights sold for my asking in a few hours of posting them. But yes, I agree. A lot of members from other brands are coming in now and there seem to be a lot more talkers lately. I listed something for $30 and a "buyer" said how about 25 shipped and I told him I can do 30 shipped, which I thought was fair. He responded with "too rich for my blood"...

Oh, I never list anything on facebook or craigslist. I only list stuff on the forums to protect myself and keep my parts that I bought and cared for in the "family", so to speak. It's even nicer when someone that follows my journals buys the parts since the know the full history of that item.

Either way, I think it is just me getting older and having less time to deal with all the car stuff of buying/selling/trading. I used to do it all day long, but now I find it to be such a process haha. Maybe I am getting grumpy in my old age?

I do not. I am a fan of darker colored wheels usually. But sometimes, going a bit lighter on certain colors is the right move. I would love to get a set of the volk ze40's in the dark gunmetal color. I think that is the perfect color for this car. Although, I don't feel like spending the $3k for them haha.

Yep, I was thinking about posting an interlagos e46 or e9x m3 on silver ec7's. I just meant I didn't have any pictures of a lapis blue sti on them. But yes, same concept. Super clean and has contrast.

Although the hyper black is a bit darker than the race silver in that pic. Hyper black has a tint of black in it.

Oh man, for a while I was happy to be out but the feelz still remain... possibly could get into a bugeye wagon, otherwise I'd only come back for a new sti with updated motor. For now I'm going down the rabbit hole of modified miatas!

Speaking of motors, how are you liking it? I haven't been on nasioc much so haven't followed your build closely but I 'member you being hesitant to go stage 2 with your wrx, for valid reasons. Planning to keep the powertrain mostly stock for this one?
