Default Scoobyfreak86 2017 Lapis Blue Pearl STI Journal

We added another one to the stable this weekend. Needed a bigger family car with more space than our 16 Honda Accord. Ever since I sold my Jeep Grand Cherokee we have been missing the extra cargo space. We wanted to get an ascent but since they arenít available yet, we decided on an outback for now. Going to hang onto this for a few years and hop into an ascent or a 3 rower when it is needed.

This is primarily the wifeís car, so it was all her call. Of course I wanted the limited due to the nicer wheels and led headlights, but she preferred the cloth seats, so we decided on a new 18í fully loaded premium. Navi, eyesight, auto tailgate, etc. Pretty sweet package and really enjoy the comfort it provides. The updated media screen is really nice. Sorta jealous of it haha. Also, the stereo sounds much better than mine as well and itís not even the Harmon Kardon.

Not going to do much to it as itís just a family hauler. Iím definitely going to address the head and fog bulbs to something LED and possibly some nicer wheels since I canít stand the wheels. Either way, going to keep it super simple and looking forward to having another scooby in the family. Now I just need to get my ass in gear and build our shed so we can get the crap out of the garage and she can park in there haha.

I have a guilty pleasure in the Outback/Legacy. I spent a long weekend driving a 3.6r Legacy and if I could get over the CVT I'd be tempted lol

Nice pickup with the Outback. I personally love them. We are likely going to be getting an Ascent next year.

Yeah it surprised me how much I like it. It drives super nice.

That is our plan as well. Going to wait a year or two of them being out to work out all the kinks and then going to get one. They seem like they are going to be awesome.

Looking around for some wheels again and still keep coming back to the enkei rs05rr's According to this link, no spacers are needed. Can anyone confirm?

Here's an image from Subispeed on two cars. One with STi Brembos and one with a BBK. No mention of spacers though, one way or the other.

Oh whoops.

It's technically Monday for me.

Now I recall you mentioning that you don't even like the NT03RR.

Haha no worries. Yeah not a fan of the NT03RR's. The reason why I like the NT03's is because of the lip and slight concave. The flat face makes them look cheesy and reminds me of spiderman haha.

I have not measured the stock wheel for spacing, but I did come across this formula which should help.

The stock wheel is 18X8.5 ET55
Take the wheel width and divide by 2 for center line = 4.25"
Convert that to mm: 4.25" = 107.95mm
Take that number and subtract offset: 107.95 - 55 = 52.95mm
Take an estimate of a 10mm lip of the wheel and that gives you 62.95mm from the hub to the outside of the wheel.

When you compare that to the RS05RR at 18x9.5 ET35 you get the following:
9.5/2 = 4.75"
4.75" = 120.65mm
120.65 - 35 = 85.62mm
add in 10mm for the lip of the wheel (this might not be 10mm looking at the wheel) = 95.62mm

Based on these numbers the Enkei will stick out ~33mm farther than the stock wheels.

So if you can measure your stock wheel and feel like ~33mm more wheel would sit flush, these should be good to go.

I really like this wheel, hopefully it fits what you're looking for.

I think his concern is more with caliper clearance.

I am not concerned about the offset. I am concerned about the inside barrel/face/spokes fitting the front brakes. I am very familiar with offsets and fitment. I appreciate the post though.

You will love the outback man we deff love our 17, ours is like yours primary wifes car but we take it everywhere now just because of the space and having a little one. The outback is just a great overall car I had a 11 back when I was in college and I still miss that thing.

Also helps keep thee miles off the STI in a year mine only has 8000 while the wifes has like 23k

We haven't even had the outback for a week yet and I think I might have drove it more this week than the STI. It really is a nice ride and glad we decided to snag one. We were contemplating getting something much larger but decided to stay with the brand and develop our relationship with out dealer even more. We plan on hopping into the Ascent if it pans out to be the great SUV it is saying it's going to be.

Haha yeah for sure. We plan on using the Outback as the family car so it will definitely get more use than the STI now. Which is a good thing since I can keep the STI clean and keep it to my standards.

Yea we will be in the Ascent as well, the salesmen we have worked with said as soon as they get one he will let us come drive it. I hope it does pan out to be what they want it to be, it will fit our needs perfect. I had a 15 GMC Yukon and never again worst vehicle I have ever owned.
