As for your white connector, that looks to me like a foglight connector. Are you sure that goes to a turn signal?

I used the mounting bracket from an 03 wrx wagon. (same as the canister)

it mounted right up and everything bolted in.

is the orange light next to the fog lights a turn signal? I have that small light connected to my 96 chassis fog light switch. the connectors are the same.

if I connect a light to that white connector I stop getting the fast blinker.

I don't have the same front bumper as what you've got now; my front end is like what you originally had. With that front end style, the corner lights next to the headlights are not turn signals; they're just driving lights. The lights in the bumper are the turn signals.

I'm assuming that the same is true of the bumper that you've got. So, sorry for the bad initial advice; that white connector looks like the foglight connector.

Yesterday i went for a longer drive to bed in the brakes. Im using hawk hp plus front and rear with oriellys rotor blanks. Wow these are dusty! But feels great.

I got some 3mm spacers. Wheel and tires are really close to the coilover perches. Im using 215/45/17 tires.

Orderer a sheet of plastic from ebay and make a speaker adaptor ring. Its really rough but gets the job done. Using some cheap boss speakers that came as a set with the headunit.
20180211_125703 by meme meme, on Flickr

I got the spc sway bar adaptors installed. Not sure if there is a specific way these go. Cant seem to find any pics of them installed. Once i get the alignment done, ill tight it down.

Last on the list is a vinyl or magnetic number set for the track day. Anyone know a good place for this let me know.

I thought the lateral link came with a little diagram or instructions that explained how to position the bracket. Anyway, there's really only one way it can go - hanging down below the rear lateral link, opening facing to the rear:

As for numbers, it's been years since I ordered any - I've got a bunch of numbers and letters stuck on my fridge, along with dozens of Rock Auto magnets. There may be (probably are) more options now, but I used Solotime/SPS - www.soloperformance.com - great quality and tons of options. I have 8" numbers and 4" (or maybe 5"?) class lettering for my various cars.

You will need to splice the signal light plug from your old L signal lights. That plug on the JDM signal is the newer style(the USDM 2.5RS will have the same). I had to do this on my wiring harness started life as a 98 2.5rs and I had the Banana signals for my sport bumper(which used the older style plug).

There are several different Autox organizations around socal.

The SCCA runs events at AAA speedway in the large parking lot across from the kart track, as well as at the El Toro runway at the old marine air base(at least they used to, they have been threading to close it down and build homes there).
You do have to work at SCCA events, basically picking up knocked over cones during other people's sessions. They will assigne you to an zone where you will be responsible for any knocked over cones. SCCA events give you 3-4 normal times runs(depending on group size for the day) and you can buy a set of "x-runs" which are the same amount of runs as your competition runs, they don't count towards your completion times.

Speed Ventures which is also run at AAA speedway but they italics the smaller infield parking lot. This one costs more than the SCCA events but you get a lot more runs(generally at least 15-20). You also don't have to work, the time have a staff that will pick up any knocked down cones. This is a great venue to test and tune your suspension as you get a lot of runs and have time in between each of your run groups to make adjustments and be able to test it right after.

There is also a smaller organization that runs an event every month at the Camirrillo Airport. It's a much smaller group and you get a decent amount of runs in. You have to work at this one as well. I have only been to this one once, quite a few years ago.

My car has been under the knife for about two years now installing my WRC widebody. I have just finished it and got it running. I'm in process of getting my swap BAR certified and I'll put all my parts back on and head out to the Speed Ventures Autox to test it out and make some adjustments.

March should be about when I'll be ready as well, depending on how long I have to wait for an appointment for my tune.

awesome info

the spc didnt come with a picture diagram. so i wasnt sure how if it should be straight or down.

solo performance has so many options. ill have to sit down a read everything first.

i see that track days like speed ventures and extreme speed want 3 digits.

i found this site www.motorsportreg.com/ that list all the track events in an area.

if everything goes right, ill have my alignment done this sunday. then just putting some miles on the car to make sure nothing falls off.

you got to post up some pictures of the wide body!

My suggestion would be to get individual numbers, rather than a number board that has a number already on it. If you've got a number board with 123 on it, and someone else registers for the event before you and takes that number, you're back to using painter's tape. But if you've got a pair of 6s (9s), a pair of 3s and a pair of 1s (or whatever combination you want to use), you've got a multitude of number options you can use when you register.

Another similar site is www.dlbracing.com. I would say motorsportreg.com has become progressively more popular than dlbracing.com over the years, but in my area the SCCA events are on DLB, so I end up using both sites.

wow! really nice build. i would be to afraid to drive a car that nice on LA roads! i also wanted to get my car bared. but i had left my 03 wrx downpipe and cats out side in front of my garage. came home one day; it was all gone, well only the downpipe and cat. they left all the other junk that i actually wanted to trash!
so ill deal with that later.

small update.

got the rs turn signals; brand is depo and not the best quality. some parts of the orange lense isnst flat against the black housing. so water might get in pretty easily.
20180218_104917 by meme meme, on Flickr

this depo lense came with the roundish connector. on my 1996 coupe, the foglight uses the squarish connector that is hooked up to a switch on the cluster cover thing. the turn signal uses this roundish connector.
20180218_104944 by meme meme, on Flickr

i got the iwire intercooler shroud made for an STI intercooler i think. i was going to get the sti unit butchanged my mind. i forgot i had already bought the shroud. i would need to trim the lip closest to the headlight.
20180218_122018 by meme meme, on Flickr

i got a small buzzer off ebay for a $1 and hooked it up to the keyless entry. mounted on top of a mount i used for the innovate psb-1 map sensor and boost cut relay.
20180218_122031 by meme meme, on Flickr

last night i installed a new dry and o-rings.
20180218_220615 by meme meme, on Flickr

bad news; it wont hold vacuum for more then 15-20mins. then it will slowly creep back to 0 in about another 10mins.
20180218_220707 by meme meme, on Flickr

i go in for my alignment tomorrow. im going to use 181stLeader's alignment specs i saw on his build thread.

I would set your front camber plates to the position to get as much positive caster as possible. The loss of camber due to roll on hear cars is pretty nasty. I'm at around +5 degrees on my car(04-06 USDM sti aluminum LCA, flipped LCA pin/mount, whiteline offset ALK bushing, and the alk mount pushed as far forward as possible). I don't have camber plates yet but I'm looking for a set of Bakemono's as they can be installed to max out caster.

i didn't see your post till later in the day after my alignment.

this is what i got.
caster= left front 2.7 and right front 2

ill have to do more research on caster adjustments. ive seen sti arms but I'm really new to Subaru so not sure which is best way to go.

20180220_122303 by meme meme, on Flickr

still debating on installing the racepak iq3s dash. originally i planned to get a jdm ej20 and use the dash with a haltech 750 ecu.
but now its running and I'm kind of lazy to change something that is not really needed. i might break something else instead and cost more money to fix.

20180220_180010 by meme meme, on Flickr

bundle of wires. not to bad. it can only display basic funtions. air/fuel, map and other stuff i would need to get some vnet connecters.
20180220_180036 by meme meme, on Flickr

so now ill have to decide on a place to order the numbers and see what i need to join the speed ventures autox or join the scca stuff.

i went to a small alignment shop in Glendale called andys alignment. Aurther helped me out and made sure i was happy. it cost me $100 and ill be back after 2 or 3 autox/trackdays. price seems normal. i paid $220 at evasive for corner balance and alignment( couldn't get the rear dialed in). I'm not sure if they corner balance by preloading the spring or by the lower shock perch. they put markings on the spring perch but not on the lower shock perch. i thought you corner balance by the shock mounts.

Id have em try to get more positive caster next time you get it aligned. i still dont have front camber plates. I have been looking for a set of bakemono camber plates for a little while. They can be installed in many different orientations depending on what spec you are trying to adjust.

I tried to the swaybar mount and couldn't get it to line up with the hash marks.
20180221_182437 by meme meme, on Flickr
20180221_182430 by meme meme, on Flickr
if keep at the hash marks the swaybar links are upagainst the swaybar and slightly bent.

so It is as far out towards to the wheel as it can be. not sure if I have the wrong swaybar though. the parts car I got looked like they removed and replaced a lot of stuff. kind of bothers me so I might get new swaybars and something to correct the front caster.

since the parts car was a wagon, do I need to get wagon swaybars, does it matter?

changed all fluids last night and it was really clean. driving around town and its boosting about 10psi. seems to run really good. I get a coolant smell when standing in front of the car but cant find a leak and levels are still normal.

I might sign up for the Fontana autox on the 3. ill know tomorrow.
looking on amazon, vinyl cutting machines are about 150ish with stickers and program. might just pick this up.

while changing the engine, trans diff oil, coolant, I found 2 really long nails in my practtically new tires(less then 20miles). I was getting ready to go to a track day at big willow track on Saturday. good thing I waited to sign up.

2018-02-28_11-45-53 by meme meme, on Flickr

old plugs

I got 2 check engine codes; p0245 and p0462
20180224_104450 by meme meme, on Flickr

since I had to wait till Monday to get my tire patched, I figured I would remove the passenger window regulator and lube it up. it is pretty slow when rolling up. I got the window almost out but got stuck at the end of the window. it got stuck at the window mounts and the front "C" thing that slides into the regulator got stuck at the edge of the door. so I put everything back together and will deal with that later.
20180225_165021 by meme meme, on Flickr

I replaced an o-ring on a newly installed dyer and did another vacuum.
20180228_113326 by meme meme, on Flickr

then charged the system with a bit less then 2 cans. I put to much oil in the system. I forgot I had already put oil in the evaporator and put more in when I installed the dyer. but the system is ice cold now!!. ill have to check the belt. I can see it vibrating like its not tight. but it works and feels great.

thanks for checking out my thread. ill keep it going as long as my funds allow.

the front end I got came with PIAA h4 bulbs. its kind of blueish so I got Sylvania ultra.

if anyone would like the piaa bulbs let me know. free if picked up in Glendale.
20180306_202604 by meme meme, on Flickr

spent the day modify the iwire intercooler shroud. I think it was made for sti intercooler in a GD body. some minor trimming the edges and it fits. just got the clean up the cuts and paint it
20180306_202527 by meme meme, on Flickr

did a log and it maxed out at 19.26psi. then tapered down to about 16-17ish.

I might do a protune but then it is locked and cant make changes. if I can find a tuner that will not lock it that would be great.
20180303_201223 by meme meme, on Flickr

on my innovate psb-1; I get an "02 cut" when ever I floor it. been searching and cant find what that means.

thanks.

ive been putting some miles to see if anything wrong comes up. so far everything is working great.

when I got the swap done, the gas gauge never worked. so I stated looking around and then contacted iwire. when I got the harness done, I had to order an extra harness to use the GD gas tank and lines.
they forgot to hook up the GD level sensor to the GC gauge. after a few emails, they got it sorted out and told me what to do to get it working.

I then went to fill up the gas tank, and gauge went up. but it hasn't moved back down yet. ive only driven it about 30miles.

does the fuel gauge always read level even without the key on? mine never goes down.

not much has been going on.

I finally finished the first tank of gas (almost) that I put some gumout in. also not sure how accurate the gas level is. it took awhile for the gauge to drop to down a quarter tank.

did some changes to wastegate duty map of cobb stage2 91acn map. seems to help with the boost creep.

I signed up for autox at el toro , Irvine on the 14th. I haven't been to an autox event in a really long time and was a passenger then. so hope I look like I know what I'm doing.
